26 15.773N 080 05.310W - Bernie and Kathryn's dock
Charlie got frustrated because we were "burning daylight". Nobody was here by 0930, and we had been told the previous day that the arch was loaded on a trailer, ready to bring over to Bernie and Kathryn's.
They finally showed up some time after 1030. We used the topping lift to help hoist it up, and even Bernie came out to help with moving it onto Lady.
They positioned the feet of the arch, so that at least one of them would cover the foot-print of the pulpit legs that had been removed.
Larry and Scott temporarily screwed the arch in place, and then
began work on getting the stern pulpit rails to line up.
I made lunch for everyone...I was afraid that if they left they might not come back very quickly, and this seems like it is going to be a long job!
A baby iguana showed up as we were eating.
There was a lot of grinding and welding during the afternoon.
Howard came by to see how things were progressing.
The grinding and welding continued, and by the end of the day both stern pulpits had been removed, adjusted, and left with Larry to have more work done at his shop.
The oxen is slow, but the earth is patient.
